Institute has elected American Inter
national Assurance Company Lim
ited vice president and chief
compliance officer Annette Donse
laar as its new president.
With more than 20 years in the
compliance profession, Donselaar’s
experience spans a number of roles
in compliance as a regulator, in-
house compliance manager and
industry specialist. Based in Hong
Kong, she is a CCP (Fellow) of ACI
and holds bachelor degrees in Arts
and Commerce, two masters
degrees in Law, a Diploma of Finan
cial Planning and a Graduate
Diploma of Compliance. She is also
chairperson for the ACI’s Accredita
tion and Education Committee.
“Practical, effective compliance
professionals are an integral part of
shaping the business and regulatory
models in these difficult economic
times,” Donselaar said. “The insti
tute has a strong history of develop
ing the profession and leading the
industry by ensuring that obligations
are translated into business needs.”
According to ACI CEO Martin
Tolar, having a president based in
Hong Kong is reflective of the
body’s commitment to meeting the
needs of compliance professionals
throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Other changes to the ACI board
include the election of KPMG part
ner Peter Whyntie as vice president
and two new board members,
Queensland Rail principal compli
ance advisor Liam O’Brien, and
NAB head of group compliance
Pam Hauser.
