Aon Australia has elevated its risk manager to the top job in the company.
Steve Nevett, national general manager, corporate risk services, has been appointed CEO and country manager, but will retain his role as risk manager.
Bernie Fung, the chair and CEO of Aon Asia Pacfic said Nevett had grown Aon Australia’s corporate risk services market share of top 100 companies from 11 per cent to 35 per cent in three years.
Nevett replaces Peter Harmer, who was appointed chief executive officer and country manager of Aon UKlast month.
Harmer was CEO and country manager for Aon Australia for seven years and replaces Dennis Mahoney, who is moving to Bermuda to chair Aon Global, a new business group focused on global companies.
“Many in our industry know Steve personally or by reputation, and I have no doubt he will bring the same intellect, commitment and passion to the role of CEO as he has to his current role,” Harmer said.
